Description
This is a classic Springfield Armory M1 Garand, factory-converted or arsenal-rebarreled to fire the modern 7.62x51mm NATO (.308 Winchester) cartridge. Originally chambered in .30-06, these 7.62 NATO variants were produced in limited numbers, most notably for U.S. Navy use, and offer shooters improved ammunition availability and reduced recoil.
The rifle features a parkerized finish with a walnut stock that shows authentic field wear and rack markings (“NR1” painted on the buttstock). The bore is in good condition with visible rifling, and all mechanical parts appear intact, including the adjustable rear sight, front sight with protective wings, and internal 8-round en bloc clip system.
Perfect for collectors, shooters, or reenactors, this M1 retains its iconic semi-automatic action, rugged wood-and-steel construction, and World War II-era charm—now in a more versatile caliber.
